Not such a tall tale afterall

Tim Burton's 2003 movie Big Fish was a Big Disappointment partly because the computer generated catfish at the end was so unbelievable. Right, like a catfish could ever get that big. Well, National Geographic has compiled their Top Ten News Photos of 2005 and guess what? Number 2 is a 646 pound catfish caught in Thailand. Somehow I missed this story the first time.

Unbelievable! Wendy, I forwarded this photo to Tadd, Phil, Jay and Michael...because they are planning a fishing event while we are home to Oregon...well, this would scare me!

I read this, quite a time ago:
Tim Burton, about his CGI deny in his new Film 'Big Fish':
We've all gotten CGI lazy in this film world. It's like we're all standing out in a field looking at a tree and they go,
"Well, can't we just CG the car in the tree?" And it's like, "No, we gonna hang the car in the tree,
because that's what we need to do." "Can't we CG the flowers in?" "No, we can't CG the flowers in,
we're going to plant all those flowers out in that, put all those flowers out in that field and
have Ewan McGregor standing in flowers and not a fucking blue screen."
