Savannah, GA: Yay a real city!

Corner cafes with signature sandwiches at reasonable prices! (B. Matthews Bakery and Eatery's black-eyed pea patty, for example.) Tour trolleys to dodge! Hotels with great city views to sneak into! Churches that toll on the hour! Park blocks!

There's a cobblestoned waterfront lined with three and four storied ancient loadbearing masonry buildings housing shops and hotels. Oh, and the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) owns half the city. They have a fabulous, overly expensive exhibition/gift shop called shopSCAD/Exhibit A.

What a wonderful couple of days spent there. And with the incredible hotel deal off of Hotwire, it was affordable.
